Pilates

Are you in balance? The main point of attention in Pilates is balance. Mental as well as physical. The focus is on concentration, breathing and fluent movements. With Pilates, you train your muscles in such a way that ensures your body finds a perfect balance. You strengthen your body, concentrate on your breathing and increase your suppleness. Special attention is paid to your stomach area, lower back and glutes.

The basic principles of Pilates

- Breathing: the exercises contribute to increasing your lung capacity.
- Concentration: train with awareness and concentration to achive your full potential.
- Centering: the exercises aim to activate the "powerhouse". These are the deep abdominal muscles, the pelvic floor muscles and the stabilising back muscles around your spine. Eventually, the powerhouse will form a corset of muscles around the pelvis and the spine.
- Control: because every part of your body has its own function, it is important to have total control when performing the exercises. 
- Precision
- Fluent movement: The exercises are linked together through fluent movements.

The Pilates group lesson takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
